Version 1 features a two inch sparking rod mounted in a custom crafted handle of exotic Coco Bolo wood, suspended on a black nylon para cord.
In Version 2, the sparking rod is hidden within the Coco Bolo pendant. Simply withdraw the cord to access the ferro rod.
The Fire Steel X2 will light hundreds of survival fires....plus, the para cord / neck thong can be used to fashion a bow drill. The remaining bow drill components can be readily made in the bush but having usable cordage is crucial.
